Admittedly, there are gorgeous dresses and clothes out there that tempt me, even when they sport a $100-$200 price tag.  But with many interests to satiate (sewing, crafting, gardening and more) I have to be discriminating with my money.  While many budget costs are fixed, clothing is one expense that offers a great opportunity to save money and be creative at the same time. 

With minimal effort, it's easy to pull together a fabulous look on a song.  My favorite stores for budget-friendly clothing are:
Old Navy:  I find that even their "expensive" stuff is reasonably priced!

TJ Maxx: Designer clothing at budget prices.  Some of my favorite pieces have come from TJ Maxx.  The inventory moves quickly, however, so if you like it, you better buy it or it won't be there when you return.

Marshalls: Just like TJ Maxx (see above).  The customer service isn't great, but the prices sure are.

Kohl's: I very rarely EVER have anything ring up full price there!  Also, if you're into designers, Vera Wang now sells an affordable line there (well, more affordable than her designer stuff, but sometimes still pricey).  I also like Daisy Fuentes's line.

Target: They have some really nice clothes and again, if you're into the designer labels, they have affordable lines from big shot designers.

Chadwicks.com:  Chadwick's prices aren't always the best, however, they allow you to defer payment for your purchases for 90 days.  I like this because I can order clothes, try them on and return the ones I don't like and only pay for the ones I keep.  Just make sure you read all the rules about deferred payment and follow them to the letter.  Also, you can always find a coupon for a percentage off or free or low-cost shipping if you do a Google search for " Chadwicks coupons" or sign up on the Chadwicks website.

Thrift stores:  It took me a while to get used to this idea, but my favorite thrift store for clothing is Goodwill.  Generally, they display the clothing a little better and it's easier to find good stuff.
