Hush Naysayers! Crocks Rock!
You either love 'em or hate 'em. They're either the most comfortable and cute or hideous and gross things you've ever seen. I'm not talking about an esteemed political candidate-no, I'm talking about Crocs.
I'll go ahead and spill my position: I LOVE Crocs. So there.
Despite my love for them, I really can't believe the controversy that Crocs cause. Sites like ihatecrocs.com show pictures of Croc abuse and feature letters of Croc hate. (I admit...the site IS funny though!).
At the grocery store recently, I had a nice young man give me a flirty "up and down"...you know, that look that says, "hey baby, what's shakin?". He smiled while gazing all the way down...til he got to my feet. Then he frowned and walked away. Damn. I thought he had potential.
OK, so they aren't the prettiest shoe, but the bright colors more than make up for that little downfall! They're awesome for gardening and yard work because you can later just rinse them right off and Voila!...they're clean and ready to go for next time.
Maybe some of the opposition is about the wearing of them outside of the garden. Alright, I concede they aren't the most flattering and cosmopolitan shoes out there...but I submit that they are the most comfortable! I love to wear them when I know I'll be walking a lot, whether that means a day of yard work...or a day of shopping or sightseeing.
So in defense of Crocs around the world, I am sending a little love. I love you my little plastic foot-huggers!

Hmmm...never really got in on the whole Crocs phenomenon, but I have to ask -- are they really that comfortable for gardening? They look like they'd cause your feet to get all sweaty. Other than that curiosity, I have no opinion either way.

They do get your feet sweaty if you don't wear socks. However, the beauty in that case is that before you go inside from gardening or lawn work, you just spray off your feet, shoes and all and you're all cleaned up! If that doesn't appeal to you, however, just wear socks. That's what I do! Then you peel off your socks before walking in, leave the shoes outside for spraying off later, and you have clean tootsies and no tracking of grass and dirt

When I was in the keys wearing my crocs, where I thought I was in style, I was told I was to young for them and take them off immediately and given flip flops from the store owner...I haven’t worn them since. But they are oh so comfy!
